A Mother’s War on Ticks

She’s had more than her share of run-ins with ticks. Her daughter’s had Lyme twice — with symptoms — and a couple of years ago, she was pulling ticks off her kids almost daily.

Come spring, a bowl of alcohol sits ready. Any tick that shows up goes in and dies within hours. Then it’s straight to the trash.

She hates ticks. And though they leave her alone, they go after her kids — which has turned her love for hiking into a source of fear.

She sprays the yard, uses natural repellent that actually works (Nantucket Spider), and never forgets tick checks. When she does, they show up. But since finding the right spray, they haven’t had a single tick.

She turns to Ledum, a naturopath, and when needed — antibiotics. Because for her, it’s simple: she wants the ticks gone. For good.
