She had a large fibroid—16 cm, located outside her uterus. Through dedicated diet and lifestyle changes, it shrank to 12 cm before she underwent laparoscopic surgery to remove it. About seven months after the surgery, she became pregnant.
Her gynecologist had initially recommended a C-section, but later in her pregnancy, her OB reviewed her case and suggested that a vaginal delivery could be possible. She and her partner were hesitant. It wasn’t until week 36, after a thoughtful conversation with a prenatal class nurse, that they felt more confident in that option.
Labor wasn’t easy. Some doctors questioned the delivery plan, including the anesthesiologist. But with the unwavering support of experienced nurses, she was able to deliver her baby vaginally —a moment of strength, trust, and new beginnings.
