They finally found a setup that worked—two cribs, one on each side of their bed, securely attached with zip ties and one side removed on each. The baby slept on her side, the toddler on his. It was tidy in theory, but in reality, most nights their daughter found her way to the middle, curled up closer to her.
Looking back, she wished they had done it this way from the start. During pregnancy, she had spent countless sleepless nights shuffling back and forth to the nursery, trying to train her daughter to sleep alone. It had felt like the “right” thing to do at the time.
But now, with both children within arm’s reach, nights felt calmer. Not perfect, not uninterrupted—but gentler. Co-sleeping wasn’t always easy, but it was what worked for them. Safe, close, and full of love.
